LIVING & SOCIAL SPACES

The bright and flexible living accommodation has been thoughtfully designed to balance social connection with quieter moments. An open mezzanine sitting room provides a comfortable space for relaxing, reading or lively conversation, while the fully equipped modern kitchen is well suited to family cooking and entertaining. A practical utility area supports longer stays, and a dedicated desk space offers a quiet corner for work or study.

The entire ground floor is arranged to encourage shared experiences and easy entertaining. Guests can gather in the Vestibule and Garden Room for dining, meeting and socialising, before moving through to the Pheasant Bar & Games Room.  A standout space with relaxed seating and entertainment includes a bar, pool table, dartboard and table football.  For those keen to explore Scotland’s renowned spirits, we can arrange Tasting Events for guests to sample local whiskies and gins during their stay.

RELAXATION & ENTERTAINMENT

When it’s time to unwind, The Den provides a cosy retreat for film nights or gaming sessions. A collection of family board games offers screen-free entertainment, while quiet corners throughout the house invite guests to enjoy a coffee and a good book.  An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor for added convenience.

King Master Bedroom

A spacious and peaceful haven, the king-size master bedroom features a comfortable seating area, ample storage for luggage and clothing, and a calm atmosphere ideal for relaxation. A hairdryer is provided.


Inspired by nearby Fyvie Castle, one of Scotland’s most impressive baronial castles, famed for hosting royal guests, including Charles 1.

Twin Bedroom

The Barra twin room is styled with a quirky charm and furnished for comfort. It includes a clothing rail, luggage rack, and hairdryer, making it ideal for children, teenagers, or friends sharing.


Named after Barra Castle, located just five minutes away towards Inverurie. Nearby, guests can enjoy The Barra Kitchen, known for local produce, homemade treats, and the much-loved Barra Berries.

Double Bedroom

This cosy yet bright double bedroom offers open shelving, hanging space, a luggage rack, and a hairdryer. It’s a welcoming and restful space, perfect after a day exploring Aberdeenshire. 

Taking its name from Mounie Castle, located just west of Oldmeldrum near Daviot. Originally built in 1641 by Robert Farquhar, Provost of Aberdeen, it remains rich in original architectural character and local history.
