The entire ground floor provides guests with spacious areas to catch up with family and friends.  The Vestibule and Garden Room for meeting and dining space, leading through to The Pheasant Bar with seating areas to allow for plenty of chatting and relaxing.  Complete with its own bar, pool table, dart board, and table football for those competitive challengers.  Sample local whiskies or gins or we can book tours to help you decide what your favourite will be.

The Bedrooms

Named after three local historic castles, these bright comfy and quiet spaces are just right for getting a good night’s sleep on your stay at The Urquhart.

This bright and spacious King size room is a quiet haven for slumber, with a comfy sofa to relax on or read, and plenty of space for luggage, clothing and chilling out. Hairdryer supplied.


A fantastic place to visit, Fyvie Castle, a beautiful baronial castle hosted royal guest, Charles the 1st and the infamous Robert the Bruce. With beautiful grounds,  precious arts and furnishings and a ghost or two!

The Barra  twin room is furnished for comfort, in a quirky style, with clothing rail, luggage rack and hairdryer.


Home to local farmers, Barra Castle is just 5 minutes on the way to Inverurie.  Try the Barra Kitchen for some local food, ice cream, treats and their home-grown Barra Berries - so delicious!  The Stephen Family have transformed it into a busy hub for locals and visitors alike.
This cosy double room is bright and airy, with luggage rack, open shelving and hanging space for clothing and hairdryer supplied.

Mounie - Mounie Castle lies just 3 miles west of Oldmeldrum, close to neighbouring village, Daviot it is a privately occupied home, but originally built by Robert Farquhar, Provost of Aberdeen in 1641, and synonymous with the Seton family since 1714 when owned by George Seton and much of the original styling exists.
